Oral Evaluation

The care you deserve! The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommends starting dental visits at the eruption of the first tooth and no later than 12 months of age, and every six months after that. Pediatric dental wellness exams play a crucial role in identifying potential issues early, preventing them from escalating into bigger problems. In these exams, we focus on evaluating your child’s oral health, including screening for tooth decay, gum disease, and other dental concerns. Early detection allows us to address problems promptly, keeping your child's smile bright, happy, and healthy.

Special Oral Health Needs

When it comes to dental care, children with special needs—whether they're physical, developmental, medical, or cognitive—require a bit more tender loving care and understanding during their visits. By treating only one family at a time, we ensure that each child receives the extra time and attention they deserve to feel comfortable and supported during their visit.

Whitening

A full 1 hour  professional dental teeth whitening for a brighter smile for adults or

An express 30-minute lite whitening for teens or for in between touch ups for adults.

Sports Guards

Custom-fit sports guards for kids offer unparalleled protection, comfort, and a secure fit, significantly outperforming boil and bite mouth guards. They are specifically designed to absorb impacts more efficiently, reducing the risk of dental injuries during sports activities.

SDF Silver Diamine Fluoride

"SDF" or silver diamine fluoride is a non-invasive ideal interim solution to the traditional approach of removing decay and restoring with a filling material for certain kinds of kids’ cavities. We love this alternative to more involved treatment procedures because it helps kids continue to enjoy their visits to the dentist. In some cases, SDF can put a complete stop to a cavity and prevent a tooth from needing any further treatment at all.

Extractions

Sometimes, even with the best care, a tooth needs to be removed to help keep a child's mouth healthy. Tooth extractions are pretty common and usually straightforward. When a pediatric dentist takes care of this procedure, it can make both kids and parents feel a lot more comfortable and reassured.

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous oxide, a very safe and gentle sedative, is used to help patients stay calm and reduce anxiety throughout their dental procedures. It's not necessary for everyone, but in our commitment to fostering a positive and secure dental experience for your child, as well as ensuring outstanding treatment results, we aim to make even the less pleasant procedures as painless and stress-free as possible.

Space Maintainers

When children lose their teeth too early, it can lead to a loss of space in their mouths, affecting the alignment of their remaining teeth. Space maintainers are dental appliances used to hold the space left by the early loss of a primary tooth. This helps ensure that the teeth stay in the correct position and maintain a healthy alignment as they grow.

Baby Root Canals

A baby root canal treatment can save a tooth that might otherwise need to be removed too early. This is really important because losing a baby tooth sooner than expected can lead to problems with how your child's teeth line up and could affect their speech. The procedure is all about fixing the inside of the tooth to keep it healthy until it's time for it to fall out naturally, helping your child keep a happy, healthy smile. This approach helps in maintaining the natural spacing and alignment of teeth, contributing to overall oral health and development.

Tooth Colored Fillings/ Biomimetic Materials

Tooth color filled resins, are composite fillings which are often used in small to mid-size restorations providing strength, durability, and resistance to fracture. Minimally invasive fillings utilizing Biomimetic materials are designed to mimic natural tooth structure, offering a more conservative approach to restoring dental decay. Traditional materials used in fillings and crowns, such as amalgam or silver, can cause damage to healthy tooth structure and can even weaken teeth over time. Biomimetic materials, on the other hand, are made with biocompatible materials, imitate natural tooth structure providing strength and support and preserving healthy tooth structure. The procedure involves removing only the decayed portion of the tooth, leaving as much of the healthy tooth structure as possible. This technique is not only more conservative but less invasive compared to traditional filling procedures because it requires less drilling and anesthetics.

Sealants

Sealants are placed on the chewing (occlusal) surface of the back teeth — the molars and premolars — to help protect them from bacteria and acids that contribute to tooth decay.  A sealant is a thin protective resin coating that seals the chewing surfaces and has been shown to reduce the risk of decay in nearly 80% in molars, according to the American Dental Association (ADA). While fluoride helps prevent decay and helps protect all the surfaces of the teeth, dental sealants add extra protection for the grooved and pitted areas.
